TriQuint Offers New TGA4817 TIA Amplifier

New Products Apr 18, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. (Hillsboro, OR) introduced its new TGA4817, which is a 10 Gb/s transimpedance amplifier (TIA) suitable for receive optical sub-assembly and metro optical network applications, as well as other OC-192/STM-64 fiber optic system needs.

The circuitry of the TGA4817 uses a proprietary design technique to simultaneously achieve sensitivity and optical overload performance. The TGA4817 provides over 6,000 Ohms of differential transimpedance and 9 GHz bandwidth at 230 mW power dissipation from a single +3.3 V supply. The TGA4817 has demonstrated greater than -20 dBm sensitivity in testing and an optical overload in excess of +2.5 dBm.
