Tripp Lite Intros SmartPro 700VA/1,000VA UPS Systems

November 19, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Tripp Lite (Chicago, IL) expanded its line of line-interactive SmartPro UPS systems with the introduction of the SmartPro 700VA and 1,000VA 1U rackmount UPS systems (Models SMART700RM1U and SMART1000RM1U). The UPS systems occupy just one rack space, and provide servers, storage and networking equipment with full-featured power protection, including battery backup, surge suppression and line noise filtering.

The SmartPro 1U UPS systems feature up to two communication ports (one RS-232 and one USB) to provide shutdown commands and reporting on multiple servers without the need for costly accessories. Customized load-management receptacles are featured on most SmartPro Rackmount UPS systems and work with PowerAlert software to provide remote reboot of network devices or preservation of battery runtime by shutting down non-essential devices during a power failure.

"Tripp Lite prides itself on responding to its customers' needs in every way possible. Offering more power in less space is just one way in which we are leading the UPS industry," said David Slotten, Tripp Lite director of product management. "These new SmartPro 1U UPSs further strengthen our popular line of slim, rackmount UPS systems by providing powerful, versatile solutions that occupy only a single rack space."

The SmartPro 1,000 1U UPS system offers a single load-management receptacle. Both UPS systems feature versatile cabinets that are flexible enough to adapt from rackmount to tower, stack or wall-mount applications.

The new 1U rackmount UPS systems will be available the first quarter of 2002. The SmartPro 700 RM1U UPS (Model SMART700RM1U) has an MSRP of $459.00. The SmartPro 1000 RM1U UPS (Model SMART1000RM1U) carries an MSRP of $599.00.
