The Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) and the IEEE Power Electronics Society (IEEE PELS) are jointly sponsoring an all-day workshop

The Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) and the IEEE Power Electronics Society (IEEE PELS) are jointly sponsoring an all-day workshop titled “Power Magnetics at High Frequency – Transforming the Black Magic into Engineering,” on Saturday, March 25, 2017, the day before and in the same venue as APEC 2017 at the Tampa Convention Center. This workshop follows the successful inaugural event held in Long Beach, CA, prior to the start of APEC 2016. Last year’s workshop was completely sold out, so individuals interested in attending this year’s event are encouraged to register early.

The target audience for this workshop is anyone working to achieve higher power densities, low profile aspect ratio, higher efficiencies, and improved thermal performance. The workshop will comprise five sessions:

  • Keynote presentations will set the tone of the day’s presentations and demonstrations by reviewing the impact of magnetic design on power converter performance and by providing an overview of the trade-offs in the application of various magnetic materials

  • A special panel presentation will address equipment considerations and factors impacting high-frequency core loss measurement accuracy

About PSMA

Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) is a non-profit professional organization with the two-fold objective of enhancing the stature and reputation of its members and their products, and improving their technological power sources knowledge. Its aim is to educate the electronics industry, academia, government and industry communities as to the applications and importance of all types of power sources and conversion device.
