TRACO Electronic Intros TEN-30WI Series DC Converters

New Products Nov 15, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

TRACO Electronic AG (Zurich, Switzerland) introduced its new TEN-30WI Series of 30 W dc-dc converters that are fully compliant to the new ROHS Directive. Typical applications for the new converters include battery-operated equipment and distributed power architectures in communications and industrial electronics, where isolated, tightly regulated voltages are required and space is limited on the printed circuit board.

The TEN-30WI Series converters feature an ultra-wide, four-to-one input that allows operation in a variety of mobile, battery-powered or dc power system applications. The units deliver tightly regulated, single or dual outputs in a compact, industry-standard 2 in x 1.6 in x 0.4 in shielded metal package with an insulated baseplate. Efficiencies up to 87 percent allow for operating temperatures up to 85 °C. Built-in input and output filtering eliminates the need for any external components.

Additional features include remote on/off, comprehensive protection circuitry, UL/cUL safety certification, a high mean time between failure, and a three-year warranty. Pricing begins at $50.88 in 500-piece quantities.
