Torex Releases New 28V Regulators with Voltage Detection Function
Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has developed the XC6408 series of 28V voltage regulators with voltage detection function. Two types of the XC6408 series of high-speed, low quiescent current regulators are available.
The XC6408D monitors the output voltage of the regulator, and when the output voltage falls below the set level, outputs a reset signal from the VDOUT pin. The reset time (release delay time) can be set with an external capacitor. The XC6408E monitors any external voltage, and when voltage detection occurs, turns off the regulator output, enabling the regulator to be put in standby mode. Even with an input voltage of 28V, non-load quiescent current is only 8µA on the XC6408E and 9.5µA on the XC6408D thanks to the CMOS process.
The regulator includes internal over-current and over-heating protection circuits. When the output current reaches the current limit or the junction temperature reaches the temperature limit, the corresponding circuit activates to protect the IC.
A variety of package sizes are available, including the SOT-89-5, SOT-25, and USP-6C, allowing selection to match a wide range of applications from portable devices to household electrical appliances and car navigation.
