Torex Introduces New Transient Voltage Suppressor

August 01, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Torex Semiconductor Ltd. has developed a transient voltage suppressor for the protection of electronic devices from static electricity. To broaden its product line, Torex has launched TVS that protects portable and electronic devices from surge-voltage caused by static electricity.

Two types are available to match the application: the two-element XBP06V4E2HR-G and the four-element XBP06V4E4GR-G. Both types are able to withstand an 8kV discharge (based on IEC61000-4-2). Leakage current is a maximum of 1.0µA (at VRM = 5V). Packages are the USP-3 (XBP06V4E2HR-G) and the USP-4 (XBP06V4E4GR-G). The use of these small packages makes this product well suited for portable communication devices, which are becoming increasingly smaller and lighter.

The XBP06V4E2HR-G & XBP06V4E4GR-G features include: peak pulse power of 70W@ tp = 8/20µs; leakage current of 1.0µA max. @VRM =5V; housed in small packages: USP-3 (1.2 x 1.2 x h0.6mm) or USP-4 (1.2 x 1.6 x h0.6mm).
