Torex Announces Ultra-Small 300mA High-Speed LDO Regulator Series
TOREX Semiconductor Ltd. has developed a 300mA ultra-small high-speed LDO regulator. The XC6229 Series is a high-speed LDO regulator which has a maximum output current of 300mA and is housed in an ultra-small package (0.75 x 0.75 x h 0.3mm) which the company says is among the world’s smallest for single regulators. The volume has been reduced by 58% compared to previous products. This miniaturization of the package is said to make a significant contribution to space-saving circuit design.
The input voltage range is 1.6 to 5.5V. The output voltage range is 1.2 to 4.0V and can be set in steps of 0.05V within those range. The dropout voltage is 160mV (when IOUT=300mA and output voltage=3.0V). High PSRR has been achieved with a ripple rejection ratio of 80dB (at 1kHz). Current limit, short-circuit protection, thermal protection, and inrush current prevention features are incorporated. The XC6229 series is for smartphone and digital camera applications. This is also an environment-friendly product that complies with the RoHS Directive of the EU and is Pb-free.
