TDK Innoveta Intros PMH Series POL Converters

TDK Innoveta Inc. (Plano, TX) TDK Innoveta introduced its new PMH Series of non-isolated, point-of-load (POL) converters, which are suitable for intermediate bus architectures. The PMH Series covers a wide input range of 6 V to 14 V, providing a 16 A output current with an adjustable output voltage of 0.75 V to 3.63 V, in a standard surface-mount footprint of 1.3 in x 0.53 in x 0.24 in (33 mm x 13.5 mm x 6.2 mm).

The PMH converters are the first POL products in a standard footprint to cover regulated 12 V bus, semi-regulated 12 V bus, and unregulated 12 V and 9.6 V buses with a single part number. The PMH Series features a wide input range of 6 Vdc to 14 Vdc by an enhanced control design, covering the output range for both 4:1 and 5:1 unregulated bus converters; a maximum 53 W (3.3 V/16 A) with a high efficiency of 92%; an adjustable output voltage of 0.75 V to 3.63 V using an external trimming resistor; a light weight of 6.5 g; RoHS compliance; full auto-recovery protection for input under-voltage, output short-circuit and thermal limit; and an ultra-low profile of 6.2 mm (typical).
