TDI Offers New Power Solutions for WiMAX Technology

Transistor Devices, Inc. (TDI) introduced the new WIMAX power solutions based on its Remote Power System Series(RPS). The RPS plays a crucial role in a WIMAX system by providing a combination of environmentally sealed power modules and battery backup for deployment at the Network's Edge.

TDI's RPS is well-suited for WiMAX as it offers "pay as you grow" scalability. Its modular design enables additions to the system as needs are warranted. The RPS will also reduce maintenance costs, as the highly reliable Environmentally Sealed Rectifiers and Electronics ensure fewer site visits. Additionally, TDI offers flexible mounting options including pole, wall or tower.

With the ever increasing demand for broadband services to deliver faster, more affordable data, voice and video, there is a need for connectivity without a direct line of sight base station. New technologies are needed to reach areas that are too remote, too difficult and too expensive to reach with traditional wired infrastructures. TDI's WIMAX power solutions are intended to address these areas.
