New Products Jul 05, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

TDI Transistor Devices Inc. (Hackettstown, NJ) announced its new LCE Series of inverter systems. The new systems utilize switch-mode, 1.5kVA, hot-bus, plug-in, modular inverters operating in parallel n+1 redundancy. Two systems are initially being offered at 6kVA- and 12kVA-rated output power. Other features include A and B feeds, make-before-break maintenance bypass, ac distribution, a V/A meter and summary fault alarms.

TDI claims that the LCE system is the world's highest power-density inverter available in this power range. The 12kVA system measures 23in x 20in x 15in. The 1.5kVA module weighs 12lbs. The product is suitable for use in telecommunications applications such as facility co-locators, point-of-present, cellular/PCS, wireless local loops and other locations where limited ac service is required.
