Taiwan Semiconductor Showcases Lowcost and Highly Integrated Dimmable LED Controller for Automotive Lighting

Taiwan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (TSC), a global manufacturer of discrete devices (diodes, MOSFETs) and power management ICs, has just introduced a highly integrated dimmable LED controller for automotive lighting in MSOP-10EP package and AEC-Q100 qualified. Samples and products are in stock and available.

TS19501CB10H is a single channel LED driver with low-side-current sense and a device temperature grade 1 (-40°C to 125°C). The controller supports typical topologies such as Boost, Buck-Boost, and SEPIC and operates in DCM, BCM and CCM mode. The jitter function provides an effective spread spectrum to reduce EMI. Output current regulation is based on average current mode control supervised by a control loop. The fault flag is connected to a pull-up resistor from VDC. The fault status flag is latched by the timer when output is low. Taiwan Semiconductor´s LED Controller is optimized for automotive lighting applications but also suitable for LED applications that use Buck-Boost Topology.
