Systel Unveils Second-Generation Digital CSoC Power Controller

Systel Development and Industries Ltd. has introduced the second-generation IDC2000 Configurable System on Chip (CSoC) controller platform for power management applications based on Systel's unique digital signal processing approach.

The IDC2000 platform includes controller devices that reach up to 22 configurable pwm outputs with switching frequency up to 6MHz, achieving a system control response of less than 1µs. The pwm channels are protected pulse by pulse and configurable for independent or linked operation. Configurable digital PID algorithms control each output.

Systel's IDC architecture provides an alternative to the custom ASIC solutions. The IDC with on-board flash memory is fully configured at the level of the digital blocks and their interlinking, without code programming, using design tools provided by Systel. This enables power engineer to develop and apply sophisticated digital control algorithms.

The platform incorporates a 115.2 K Baud UART and optional embedded communication capabilities including amongst others: two way power line carrier communication modem, CAN module and RF transceiver control module. The IDC2000 offers solutions starting from a price of less than $3.00 and a performance of up to 2000 MIPS of equivalent processing power.
