SynQor Makes Additions to Sixteenth Brick Range

March 28, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

SynQor Corp. announced the release of further additions to its DOSA compliant sixteenth brick family in a 1.3" x 0.9" footprint. The PQ60012SGL25 and PQ60025SGL25 deliver up to 1.2V/25A and 2.5V/25A respectively. With this announcement, SynQor now offers a range of sixteenth brick devices that cover output voltages of 1.2, 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 and 5V, up to a maximum of 66W total output power.

In a typical application ambient temperature of 55°C;, the PQ60012SGL25 can deliver the full 25A of output current with little or no forced air cooling required. The PQ60025SGL25 delivers up to 22A with just 200LFM (1m/s) of airflow in the same ambient temperature. This superior derating performance stems in part from the high efficiency levels (up to 88% for the 2.5V unit) delivered by the synchronous rectified topology that SynQor employs within these products.

The devices are capable of withstanding transients on the input to 100V for 100ms, and have a basic isolation level from input to output of 2000Vdc. Control and protection features include remote sense, an output voltage trim range of -10% to +10%, input under-voltage lockout, output OVP, current limit, short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. Operating temperature range is -40 to +100°C.

Sample and production quantities are available immediately with a stock to 8-week lead-time. The modules are priced at $48.00 in OEM quantities.
