Stackpole Thick Film Current Sense Resistors Offer Sizes Down To 0201 For Portable Power Management

Stackpole announced its CSR/CSRN Series of current sense resistors for power management in portable electronic devices. With the most recent advancements in power control and delivery technology, current sense resistors need to be provided in smaller and smaller packages. These solutions must also provide low resistance values to meet the efficiency requirements of all portable electronic devices. The CSR/CSRN Series meets these demands and are available in sizes down to 0201 and resistance values as low as 3mΩ.

The low cost, small size, and relatively low resistance values make the CSR/CSRN well suited for a variety of power management applications including PDA’s, test meters, scanners, shunt resistors, dc-dc converters, voltage regulators, instrumentation, communications and networking equipment, medical monitoring devices, electronic scales, sensing and detection applications, portable audio devices, and robotics. They are also frequently chosen for lighting control applications, disc drive controllers, thermostats, small motor controls, security and safety equipment, and commercial and roadway lighting.

The CSR/CSRN Series is available in tape and reel packaging in size dependent increments. Pricing varies with size, resistance value, and tolerance ranges from around $15 per thousand to $250 per thousand in full reel quantities.
