Stackpole Releases VM Series For Applications Requiring High Power Handling With Limited Board Space

December 15, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Stackpole’s VM Series of vertical mount ceramic housed power resistors offer high power for applications with limited board space. The vertically mounted configuration is available in standard windings, welded windings for greater precision and reliability, metal oxide elements for high resistance values and metal ribbon or plate elements for low inductance and resistance values. The VM Series resistors are offered in power ratings from 2 to 10W and in tolerances as low as 0.5%. In addition, the wirewound and ribbon elements can reliably operate in temperatures up to 250°C.

The VM Series is a popular choice for a variety of power supply and motor control applications for appliances, consumer and industrial equipment, audio amplifiers, welding equipment, HVAC controls and monitoring, security controls, submersible pumps and phone switches and equipment.

The VM Series pricing varies with size, resistance element type, tolerance and resistance value, and ranges from $0.10 to $0.68 each in minimum order quantities.
