Stackpole Intros RPC Series Resistor Technology

June 16, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Stackpole Electronics Inc. (SEI, Raleigh, NC) introduced its new RPC Series anti-surge, think-film resistor technology as a surface-mount replacement for wirewound and axial-leaded film products. The RPC Series surface-mount resistors are available in ohmic values down from 0.27Ω to 22 MΩ in tolerances to 5% with TCRs of 55 ppm/°C. The RPC Series is rated for operation from

-55 °C to +150 °C.

Stackpole Director of Sales and Marketing Rob Hudspeth commented, "The RPC Series is a high-energy chip, which handles 1,800 W for 1 msec for load power and transient voltage demands. This technology is also an excellent choice for repetitive surge and pulse load requirements where wirewound and axial-leaded film devices were previously used."

Pricing for the RPC Series ranges from $0.05 to $0.10 each in quantities of 5,000. Lead times are currently six to eight weeks.
