Stackpole Electronics Offers CSR3 Current Sense Resistor

April 28, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Stackpole Electronics Inc. (SEI, Raleigh, NC) introduced a new 1225-sized current-sense chip resistor capable of handling 3 W of power at 70 °C. The new CSR3 resistors feature resistance values from 0.002 Ω to 0.200 Ω, in tolerances to ±1%. The CSR3 has a TCR of ±200 ppm/°C and demonstrates inductance of less than 0.2 nH (measured at 1 GHZ).

The CSR3 is rated for operation from -55 °C to +150 °C and is manufactured with a bottom-side, four-pad termination to allow for a Kelvin connection. The CSR3 is fully compatible with automated assembly equipment, and wave or reflow soldering methods. In addition to portable electronics devices, the CSR3 is suitable for application in current-sensing and feedback circuits in disk drives, power supplies, automotive systems and instrumentation.

The CSR3 is typically priced at $0.25 in quantities of 5,000, with delivery times from three to six weeks.
