SOCOMEC Intros PHASYS Inverters/AC Systems

New Products Sep 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

SOCOMEC SICON UPS (Cedex, France), a leading company in the production of dc/ac uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), industrial switches and protection systems, presented its new PHASYS range of products for ac systems and telecom and Internet applications.

The new line of PHASYS inverters and power systems are designed to convert a dc-input power supply voltage into a stable ac-output voltage, with no interruptions in continuity. The range comprises individual (stand-alone) inverters with power ratings of 1.5kVA, 3kVA, 4.5kVA or power systems operating with these inverter modules, which can be placed in a parallel configuration and are monitored by a central unit called

the controller (Phasys Star).

The PHASYS Series inverters have unusual features, including an internal static

bypass, supplied as standard in all models; a J-bus protocol and SMD technology, ensuring reduced consumption and easy monitoring via the Intranet or Internet; reduced maintenance times and costs as a result of the plug-in

connections and hot-swap capabilities of both the inverter modules and the controller; an

"intelligent" forced-ventilation system that ensures a high level of reliability; fan speed regulation to determine fan problems in advance; dedicated alarms that warn the user

that the fan has nearly reached the end of its lifespan; and an internal, static bypass, supplied as standard.
