Siliconix Announces the Release of ChipFET Devices

July 01, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Siliconix Inc., an 80.4-percent-owned subsidiary of Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced the release of the first ESD-protected devices in its lead-less ChipFET power MOSFET series. The new p-channel devices, which occupy a footprint measuring 3.05mm x 1.80mm, are suitable for use in load switching, battery-charger switching and power amplifier switching in cellular phones, PDAs and other portable devices.

The new ChipFETs offer low on-resistance ratings ranging from 62mohms to 37mohms at a -4.5V gate drive. All three devices are rated for operation at 2.5V and 1.8V. Maximum current handling ranges from -5.1A to 7A depending on gate-source voltages.
