Schneider PV Skid Configurable to 2MW

October 19, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Schneider Electric Solar Business announces the launch of the new PV Skid, an optimized power conversion system designed for North American photovoltaic (PV) power plants. The new PV Skid from Schneider Electric is a fully industrialized plug and play conversion system designed for centralized PV power plants. Based on the successful Conext Core XC-NA UL 1741 1000Vdc inverter platform, it is available in configurations from 1MW to 2MW ac with several optional features, including: extended temperature range from -35 to +55 degrees C, load center for tracker systems, and a canopy for sun protection. The PV Skid solution is delivered pre-assembled, configured, and tested to reduce on-site labor and expedite project completion.

"We're proud to announce the launch of the new PV Skid, which follows the success of our PV Box RT and ST solutions already installed in PV power plants globally," said Arnaud Cantin, Vice-President of the Utility-Scale Line of Business. "The PV Skid, tailored for North American power plants, strengthens Schneider Electric's commitment to meeting the needs of customers by adapting to different geographies and local requirements."

The PV Skid has a proven robust design, having undergone rigorous reliability testing, and is built to sustain harsh environmental conditions, including low temperatures, and desert and salty environments. The inclusion of a maintenance corridor allows for easy access to the inverters during periodic servicing. The PV Skid is specifically designed for road transportation and the monoblock basement design makes for faster installation on pad or piers.
