Schaffner Secures Power Line Communication
Schaffner Ltd. (Edison, NJ) announced the introduction of a new range of specialized decoupling filters for use in domestic and industrial power line communication (PLC) systems. The new products provide safe, reliable and secure transmission of both data and voice over the existing power grid.
The new PLC filters from Schaffner protect transmitted data from unintentional or deliberate signal corruption or eavesdropping, as well as eliminate the ingress of unwanted signals and interference and prevent spurious transmissions. A further benefit is reduced signal attenuation allowing more reliable communication over greater distances.
Andrew Kotas, marketing manager for Schaffner, commented, "The experience we have already gained from working on joint-development initiatives with makers of PLC appliances and transmission modules will allow us to offer a very fast time to market for future projects."
