Schaefer Intros C5300 Series Power Converters

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) introduced its C5300 Series of 7,500 W, 7 in high, standard 19 in rack dc-dc and ac-dc converters, which featuring remote sensing, over-voltage protection and current limiting on the output. The C5300 power converters are suitable for communications and charging equipment, military vehicles, telecommunications systems, process control systems, and power stations for direct load sourcing in addition to battery charging.

The C5300 Series is available in five dc input ranges from 80 Vdc to 800 Vdc as well as three ac input ranges from 160 V to 530 V, plus units can be supplied with an external power-factor correction module offering additional input ranges. Single outputs are available in eight ranges from 24 Vdc to 400 Vdc. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2% or better (load) and 0.1% (line).

Efficiencies run up to 95% depending on model and load. The operating temperature is from -20 °C to +75 °C with optional operation down to -40 °C. The units are packaged in a 7 in x 19 in x 24 in module for low-profile space savings. Prices for the C5300 Series start from $5,690 each in 100-piece quantities. Significant OEM quantity discounts are available. Delivery is in 8 to 10 weeks ARO.
