Schaefer Intros C5100 Series DC-DC and AC-DC Converters

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) introduced the C5100 Series of 5,000 W, 3U and 5U plug-in, dc-dc and ac-dc converters modules. Applications include railway controls and communications equipment (onboard and trackside), military applications, transportation, telecommunications systems, process control systems, and power stations.

The C5100 Series is available in three standard dc input-voltage ranges from 320 Vdc to 800 Vdc as well as three ac input voltages of 3 x 400 Vac (320-460) and 3 x 480 Vac (400-530). Single outputs are available in six standard ranges from 23 Vdc to 200 Vdc. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2 percent or better (load) and 0.1 percent (line). All modules in the C5100 Series have remote sensing (up to 150 V output), over-voltage protection, and current-limit protection on the output. Efficiencies run up to 95 percent. Operating temperatures available include -20 °C to +75 °C and -40 °C to +75 °C.

The units are packaged in a 3U x 40TE x 538 mm rack module and incorporate CombiTec I/O connectors. Mechanical and electrical modifications to standard modules are readily available upon request. Pricing starts at $3,960.00 each for 100-piece quantities. Significant OEM quantity discounts are available, and delivery is from six to eight weeks ARO.
