Schaefer Debuts AVP-W/KE DC-DC Converter Series

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) debuted its new AVP-W/KE dc-dc converter series for mobile applications, which offers an output power up to 78 W. With the ultra-wide-input voltage range from 14.4 V to 154 V, the devices can be used in all on-board power systems. The 19 in module is already available as single version with an output voltage of 24 V, and as dual version with +5 V/+12 V. Additional versions (single, dual and triple type) will be available within a short time.

The converters have an efficiency of up to 78 percent, and a working temperature range between –40 °C and +85 °C. They are equipped with over-voltage and over-temperature protection, as well as reverse-polarity protection with inrush current limitation. They are open-circuit stable, short-circuit proof and can be switched off externally.

The AVP-W/KE Series is priced at $210 for 100-piece quantities. Significant OEM quantity discounts are available. Delivery is six to eight weeks ARO.
