Pulse Debuts PA0766NLT Integrated Dual Inductor
Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA), a manufacturer of passive electronic magnetic-based components, announced its new integrated ferrite-bead inductor, the PA0766NLT Power Bead™ inductor, which contains two independent inductors integrated into a single core structure and part number with no magnetic coupling between the two inductors. Replacing two discrete inductors with one Power Bead inductor reduces the footprint and the PCB cost and improves circuit performance.
The PA0766NLT Series can be used in any multi-phase circuit application. Although typically used for double data rate memory, multi-phase CPU power, and other desktop, portable and server computing applications, it can also be used in two-phase and four-phase telecommunications power systems. With a footprint of 0.55 in x 0.53 in x 0.28 in (14.0 mm x 13.5 mm x 7.0 mm), the PA0766NLT Power Bead Series is available in four different inductance values and current ratings, ranging from 296 nH at 38 A peak current per phase to 568 nH at 18.5 A peak current per phase.
The two independent inductors can be connected in series or parallel to form a single inductor with an inductance and current range from 150 nH at 76 A peak current to 770 nH at 25 A peak current. The dc resistance is 0.9 mΩ maximum per phase. The part is rated for operation up to 130 °C. The PA0766NLT is RoHS-compliant.
Parts in this series are only available in tape-and-reel, with prices averaging $0.46 per unit for a quantity of 100,000 units per order. Individual part pricing may vary due to volume, configuration and shipping destination.
