May 06, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Powercube (Chatsworth, CA) announced the release of the VRMS-91-12-36 dc/dc converter voltage regulator module (VRM) specifically designed for Intel Corp.'s low-voltage Xeon and E7501 chipset. The VRM meets the 9.1 specification requirements at the reduced power level called for by the Intel processors.

The new VRM features a 12V input, programmable output, a maximum output current of 36A, high-efficiency synchronous rectification and remote-sensing output voltage. The 1U device has a typical efficiency of 80% and a switching frequency of 300kHz. It is screened for operation over the 0°C to 50°C temperature range. Safety features include overload, short-circuit (auto-recovery) and over-voltage protection.
