Gaia’s Isolated Power Supply Module

Gaia Converter’s PSDG-48 series of power supplies are designed for military and aerospace applications.

The PSDG-48 is a fully integrated, multi-output 48 W isolated power supply designed for compliance with several stringent military and aviation standards, including MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160. Architecturally, the PSDG-48 supports a 24/28 VDC input bus and offers a voltage output range from 3.3 to 96 VDC across up to three outputs. These can be configured either as single-ended or symmetrical. The products also support a permanent input voltage range from 16-60 VDC, an efficiency of up to 88%, and a transient input voltage from 10.7-100 VDC.

Other notable technical features include an integrated EMI filter, reverse polarity protection, an inrush current limiter, and a hold-up function. The hold-up function is crucial as it ensures the power supply’s continuity during brief interruptions, maintaining operational stability. Additionally, the PSDG-48 is configurable with options like synchronization inputs and individual channel on/off controls, which offer further control and integration flexibility.

Powerbox’s ECD1000A

Powerbox’s ECD1000A is a ruggedized power supply designed for defense and harsh industrial applications.

The ECD1000A operates within a wide input voltage range from 85 to 305 VAC and uses power factor correction to reach a power factor of 0.98 at 110 VAC and 0.95 at 230 VAC. With an efficiency rating of 91% at a 28 V output and 230 VAC input, the ECD1000A maximizes the usable power and minimizes wasted energy. The product features a 1000 W output housed in a metal IP65 enclosure, and its baseplate conduction cooling supports operational temperatures ranging from -40 to +75°C.

The ECD1000A adheres to multiple military standards, including MIL-STD-810H for mechanical ruggedness, MIL-STD-461 CE102/RE102, and MIL-STD-1399-300 for electromagnetic interference and compatibility. For further reliability, the product also features safety measures, including overcurrent, overvoltage, and overtemperature protection, alongside high isolation voltages (3000 VAC IN/OUT and 2000 VAC IN/FG) to protect against electrical shocks.

Supporting Defense

A reliable power supply is an absolute necessity for any mission-critical defense application. With new military-grade power supply solutions, both Gaia Converter and Powerbox offer defense designers important components to serve as the backbone of any military system, ensuring greater reliability and safety.
