Power-One Releases New Quarter-Brick with Ultra-Wide 18-60 Vdc Input Range

December 09, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Power-One, Inc. introduced the QW24T25033, a highly-efficient quarter-brick dc-dc converter for use in communications, particularly wireless base station applications that utilize both 24 and 48V battery backup power. This converter provides a 3.3V output capable of delivering 25A and performs equally well at nominal inputs of either 48 or 24Vin, where neither efficiency nor thermal performance are compromised.

The QW24T25033, with efficiencies as high as 92%, offers a DOSA standard quarter-brick footprint (1.45 x 2.30 inch, 36.8 x 58.4mm) and is RoHS compliant for all six substances. Additional features include: a -40 to +85 °C operating temperature range, capability to withstand an 80V input transient for 100ms, ability to start-up into pre-biased loads, and an on-board input differential LC-filter.

Interface and trim capabilities include: remote sense, remote ON/OFF, negative or positive turn-on logic, and +10%/-20% output voltage trim ranges with industry-standard trim equations for design flexibility. Protections include: output overvoltage and overcurrent, input undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature shutdown. Safety approvals include: UL60950-1, CSA60950-1, EN60950-1, and IEC60950-1.

Evaluation models are usually available from stock.
