Phoenix Contact’s Book-Shaped Power Supplies Save Space

May 29, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Phoenix Contact has introduced the Trio Power series of power supplies. The product line includes book-shaped DIN rail single-phase power supplies up to 500W that have been developed for use in any industry. The components have a voltage capacity of up to 300 V AC and a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 500,000 hours, which ensure high operational reliability.

All power supplies can be utilised worldwide due to the wide-range input of 85-264 V AC, as well as the UL approvals. The output voltage of 24 V DC and the output currents of 2.5, 5, 10, and 20A can be used without limitations at ambient temperatures of up to 55C. In this way, loads are reliably supplied with rated values of the power supplies even at high ambient temperatures.

The regulated and configurable output current of 22.5 to 29.5 VDC compensates for voltage drops and allows batteries to be recharged. To achieve higher performance and redundancy, the devices can be connected in parallel. The LED signaling clearly and reliably indicates all operating states. The third negative terminal allows for easy secondary grounding of the open circuit/short circuit-proof modules.
