Outdoor Inverter Solution for Large-Scale PV Plants

New Products Mar 07, 2013 by Jeff Shepard

The 360TS-SV central inverter is a new version of the tried and tested 330TS-SV. Thanks to an increased minimum input voltage and greater output voltage, the 360TS-SV is able to supply a rated output power which is 30kW higher than that of the 330TS-SV. Combined with the new TS-SV Compact Station, Sputnik Engineering AG, SolarMax provides a complete outdoor solution with an attractive price/performance ratio which can be installed on site quickly and easily and in a time- and cost-saving manner.

A TS-SV Compact Station is equipped with two TS-SV inverters and supplies a rated output power of up to 720kW. Thanks to the 360TS-SV's increased rated output power, fewer inverter stations are needed for a ground-mounted plant with megawatt capability. This further reduces the overall costs of the plant.

With a total weight of less than three tons, the TS-SV Compact Station is easy to install and transport. Two of these stations can be connected to the medium voltage mains via a plug&play facility using a transformer station.

The TS-SV inverters consist of three Power Units and can be operated either with one MPP tracker (single MPPT with partial-load optimization and error management) or with three independent MPP trackers (multi MPPT). Thus, the yields of all plants can be optimized. Up to four 360TS-SVs (or 1.44MW) can be controlled by one Master Control Unit (MCU).

The new TS-SV outdoor solution will be available as of spring, first projects in United Kingdom (38MW) and Switzerland (3.4MW) are currently already being realized.
