NIC Eurotech Expands Range of NTP Series Capacitors

New Products Aug 13, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

NIC Eurotech (UK) has expanded its range of ultra-low-ESR high-ripple-current capacitors. The NTP Series of surface-mount, polymer-cathode, tantalum-electrolytic capacitors are especially useful in designs that have low-voltage and high-current characteristics.

Typical applications include dc/dc convertors, power supplies and voltage-regulator modules. With ESR values as low as 0.025ohm, the NTP Series can be used as a direct alternative to low ESR tantalum, or low-impedance, aluminum-electrolytic capacitors. The combustion-suppressing characteristic of the polymer cathode gives the additional benefit of improved safety compared to other device styles.

With the new additions to the NTP Series, capacitance values ranging from 3.3uF to 470uF are now available. The rated working voltages of the capacitors are between 4Vdc and 10Vdc. The operating temperature range is -55 to +105 degrees C, and available case sizes are A, B, C, V and D.

All devices in the range are supplied in tape and reel packaging and are suitable for reflow soldering.
