NESS Intros New 2.7V Ultracapacitors

November 28, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

NESS Capacitor Co. Ltd. (Suwon, Korea) introduced its new 2.7V ultracapacitors with a continuous operating-voltage rating higher than 2.5V and available in 1,700 Farad, 3,500 Farad and 5,000 Farad capacitance sizes.

The 5,000 Farad model has an energy density of 5.8Wh per kilogram, and an ESR value of only 0.4 milliohms, at curents of over 500A. The durable, efficient, high-capacity energy-storage components reduce battery size requirements, extend battery life expectancy and improve peak power availability.

The new ultracapacitors are suitable for high peak-power applications such as electric vehicle and hybrid-electric vehicle acceleration and braking, industrial actuation and control, wind and fuel cell power conversion, and uninterruptible power supply switch-over bridging.

The three new 2.7V ultracapacitors are now available. Pricing begins at $110 for sample quantities.
