February 02, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Mysticom Ltd. (Israel) announced its new MY1104E GbE quad PHY transceiver, which provides four serdes channels with speed ranges from 1Gbps to 1.25Gbps while consuming 0.6W over the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Another version, the MY1104, operates over the 0°C to 70°C temperature range.

A part of the company's Multi-Gigabit family, the 256-ball BGA device provides clock compensation and recovery along with multiple self-testability options on each channel. The device is suited for use in a variety of high-speed, point-to-point, GbE links; intra-system interconnects; and high-speed backplanes. The transceiver also features the company's Signal Quality Index feature, which continuously monitors signal quality, allowing link parameters to be tuned in real-time or during the design phase by system engineers.
