Multi-Output AC-DCs From ROAL Support I2C and CAN
ROAL Electronics USA, Inc. has added a new multiple output ac-dc power supply platform, the RHPS231 designed for use in test and industrial instrumentation, information technology, process control, and computer equipment applications. The RHPS231 series delivers up to 6 outputs for a total continuous output power of up to 776W and provide serial communication with the host system through I2C or CAN bus. The RHPS231 is on display at this week's APEC meeting in Dallas, Texas.
The power supply family accepts an input voltage from 90 to 264Vac, as well as wide input frequency (47 Hz up to 440 Hz). Efficiency is greater than 80% at nominal input voltage. The unit is self cooled and includes fan rotation detection. The internal fans are supplied from a +12V voltage with its RTN/GND connection separated form the main out put RTN/GND. Both internal fans run with temperature-controlled speed for low acoustic noise and extended operating lives.
The converters use high efficiency multiphase buck synchronous rectification on the outputs. The device includes also a +5V auxiliary output delivering up to 2.5 amps. Active power factor correction results in a power factor of 0.95 at full load.
Special features include: built-in remote sensing, remote on-off, power good signals, AC voltage range signal, fan failure signal, and thermal shutdown alarm. The operating temperature range is from –40 to +60 degrees C at full load.
Main protection: over voltage, under voltage, latched or active current limiting during overload, latched or self recovered short circuit, thermal shutdown and self recovery.
Compliant to UL/cUL, CE, UL1950, CSA C22.2 No950, EN60950; full EMC compliance, meets the EN61000-3-2 and EN61000-3-3 and all the other EMC regulations, including the EN55022 & FCC for conducted and radiated emission.
The RHPS231 series is RoHS compliant. Mechanical enclosure: RoHS compliance, and conform to IPO20. Mechanical dimensions: 11.5 x 5.0 x 2.5 inches. ROAL Electronics has its manufacturing process RoHS 6 compliant. Parts available now.
