Mornsun Introduces New 3-Terminal 2A Switching Regulators
Mornsun introduced the new K78xx-2000 Series of three terminal switching regulators which the company describes as an ideal, efficient, drop-in replacement for linear regulators. According to the company, highly efficient operation (up to 92%) results in low heat dissipation, eliminating the need for a heatsink, saving board space and cost.
The K78xx-2000 products are the latest in Mornsun’s family of switching regulators. The Series offers input ranges spanning 4.75 to 18Vdc, with positive or negative outputs of 2.5VDC, 3.3, 5 and 6.5Vdc. An output current rating of up to 2A allows for up to 13W of power in a miniature SIP package with a choice of straight or bent leads.
The operating temperature of the K78 Series is -40 to +85°C. Units feature short circuit protection, low output noise, thermal shutdown and a high MBTF of 2000K hours. The K78 Series uses high quality, 100% RoHS compliant materials and are manufactured to Mornsun’s rigorous, ISO-9001 quality control program to ensure high product reliability.
