Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced that it has introduced a new series of high-frequency surface-mount rectifiers based on the company's Powermite 3 packaging. Designated the UPR802, UPR804 and UPR806, the series provides peak reverse voltage ratings of 200, 400 and 600V respectively, making them suitable for use in high blocking voltage applications such as battery chargers or switching circuits.

“These state-of-the-art devices are able to switch significant current with minimal transients or loss of power,” said Pete Ciccarelli, marketing manager for Microsemi's Powermite products. “The inherent heat-sinking properties of our Powermite 3 package design allows operation at high temperatures with exceptionally low power loss and an ultra-fast 35ns recovery.” Ciccarelli also noted that “the Powermite 3 package simplifies circuit board layout, requiring a mounting pad of only 0.19 x 0.21 inches.”
