Microsemi Debuts the LX8211 Series of PMOS Power Regulators
Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced the LX8211 Series of PMOS-based power regulators targeted at battery-operated laptop and notebook computers, PDAs, mobile phones, pagers, and other portable consumer electronic applications. The new linear regulators are available in two versions, one with a choice of fixed outputs of 2.5V, 2.7V and 3.0V, and one for adjustable voltage applications. Typical dropout is less than 200mV at 100mA. Additional features include thermal and short-circuit protection, and a shutdown mode of less than 1uA.
"We characterized the LX8211 Series with easy design-in in mind, including our choice of a space-saving standard five-pin SOT-23A surface-mount package configuration," said Kelly Jones, vice president and general manager of Microsemi's Linfinity power management products division.
The LX8211 is available for immediate sampling, with production quantities available in July. In OEM quantities of 10,000 pieces, the new regulators are priced at $0.28.
