MicroPower Direct Intros 10W DIP DC-DC Converters

The A1100RW series, now available from MicroPower Direct (Stoughton, MA), is a family of single and dual output 10W DC/DC converters. The A1100RW series provides 10W of output power from a compact DIP package without any sacrifice of performance or field reliability. They are designed for space critical board level applications requiring moderate power levels and tightly regulated, isolated outputs.

Twenty models operate from 2:1 input ranges of 9 to 18, 18 to 36, or 36 to 75 VDC, providing tightly regulated outputs of 2.5, 3.3, 5, 12, 15, ±12 or ±15 VDC. Standard features include an input/output isolation of 1,500 VDC, compliance to EN55022 Class "A", and efficiency as high as 88%. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the A1100RW series is 1.0 million hours.

The A1100RW family is packaged in a low profile 1.25 x 0.80 x 0.40 inch metal case. The pin-out is industry standard. Each model is specified for operation over the wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C ambient (+90°C case) with no de-rating or heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.

The A1000RW series has been specifically designed to combine miniature size, high power density and high performance features. These low cost DC/DC converters are targeted for space critical, board level applications that require more than the 5-6W typically available in a DIP package, but do not have the room for a 1" x 2" unit. Applications would include process control systems, telecommunications equipment, data processing equipment, robotic systems and power distribution subsystems.
