Microchip Technology Debuts MCP604X Family Op Amps

August 22, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Microchip Technology Inc. (Chandler, AZ) introduced its new MCP604X family of operational amplifiers with unity gain stability and rail-to-rail input and output, which are an ideal solution for battery-operated applications requiring low-current and low-voltage operation.

The MCP6041, MCP6042, MCP6043 and MCP6044 operational amplifiers offer rail-to-rail input and output that allows the full-voltage supply range to be useful from 5.5V down to a 1.4V voltage-supply operation. The devices are fully specified from -40 to +85 degrees C and have a typical quiescent current (Iq) of 600nA that significantly extends battery life.

Applications include sensors, instrumentation, battery-operated applications, and devices powered by a single communication loop, such as phones, security and building-safety devices.

The devices are available in eight-pin PDIP, SOIC and MSOP packages and 14-pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages. Pricing in 1,000-unit quantities is $0.44 each for the MCP6041, $0.46 for the single with chip select MCP6043, $0.58 for the dual MCP6042, and $1.02 for the quad MCP6044. Samples and volume quantities are currently available.
