Micro Analog Intros MAS9162 LDO Regulator

Micro Analog Systems Oy (Finland) introduced its new MAS9162 low dropout (LDO) regulator, which is rated at 80mA and exhibits a 30µVrms output noise level, even without a bypass capacitor. Through eliminating one capacitor and allowing the use of smaller ceramic devices, the regulator enables reduced size and cost in cellular phones and other noise-sensitive applications.

The device has a short start-up time of 10µs, further simplifying design and reducing power consumption. Dropout is specified at 95mV. Several output-voltage options are available including 3.3V, 3V and 2.8V.

The MAS9162 is housed in a small CSP and SOT23 package. Pricing is $0.49 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
