Martek Power Unveils AP1200 Series AC Front End

Martek Power (Los Angeles, CA), a manufacturer of telecommunications and military power supplies, unveiled its new high-density, ac front end, the AP1200 Series, which delivers up to 100 A at 12 Vdc across the full ac input range of 90 Vac to 265 Vac in a compact 1U x 2U format. It is suited for server and core network applications.

The AP1200 measures 3.4 in x 1.7 in x 13.0 in, the modules top over 16 W/in³ and allow up to five modules to be mounted in a standard 19 in rack for a 6,000 W in a 1U-high profile. This power density is achieved through a thermal management scheme and converter efficiencies up to 88%. The devices feature rich front ends that offer power-factor correction, N+1 redundancy, hot-swap capability and I2C bus logic for system integration and communication. Protection features include input over-voltage, output over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current with remote enable, ac good and fault indicators.

The AP1200 is priced at $250 in OEM quantities, with deliveries from stock to 12 weeks.
