Magnetek Debuts 3000W Compact Energy Station

May 19, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Magnetek Power Electronics Group, a division of Magnetek Inc. (Chatsworth, CA) announced the release of its 3,000W Compact Energy Station, which is a compact (3U x 10.8in), full-featured power system designed for communications environments where space is limited. Fan-assisted cooling of the rectifiers helps reduce the required rack space, and the equipment is front-accessible for use in cabinets and other space-restrictive environments.

The new Compact Energy Station is a high-reliability system designed for operation at a wide temperature range of -40°C to +55°C. The 19in and ETSI model supports up to four, hot-pluggable, 13.7A rectifiers, and the 23in model supports up to five (4+1) hot-pluggable, 13.7A rectifiers. Output is 48Vdc (up to 54.8A) and input is 90Vac to 264Vac (auto ranging). Built-in, low-voltage disconnect (LVD); programmable (locally or remotely) control; and a communications module provides advanced battery management capability. An optional output distribution module with six breakers and a terminal block is available for a complete power system solution.

Evaluation units of the new models are available in four weeks, with production quantities available eight weeks ARO. Pricing for the 3,000W Compact Energy Station Series is $1,600 in OEM quantities.
