M/A-COM Announces New SiGe Power Amplifiers

New Products Apr 06, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

M/A-COM Inc. (Lowell, MA), a business unit of Tyco Electronics and a provider of wireless radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave components, announced four new silicon germanium (SiGe) power amplifiers (PA) designed for "smart PA" gain along the transmit/receive path of new digital European cordless telephones, wireless local area networks, and 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g applications.

The MAAPSS0075 is an 802.11b/g-compliant linear power amplifier that delivers 26.5 dBm of output power with 32 dB of gain, and 400 mA of current consumption. The MAAPSS0081 is optimized for worldwide applications that require linear operation at 2.4 GHz with 26 dBm of saturated output power. Its low-power mode drops current consumption from 400 mA at power saturation to 150 mA at 17 dBm. It operates from a single +1.4 V to 4 V supply.

The MAAPSS0066 is an RF power amplifier that delivers 25 dBm power gain, 25 dBm saturated power output and stability across its operational boundaries. The MAAPSS0082 is tailored for applications between 1.89 GHz and 1.92 GHz. It features 23 dBm linear output power, 31 dB power gain and 280 mA current drain at 23 dBm.

The MAAPSS0066, MAAPSS0075, MAAPSS0081 and MAAPSS0082 are available from stock.
