LTC Unveils LT3434 Step-Down Switching Regulator

Linear Technology Corp. (LTC, Milpitas, CA) announced its new LT3434EFE high-voltage, Burst Mode®, step-down switching regulator that maintains quiescent current under 100 µA. The LT3434 operates within a VIN range of 3.3 V to 60 V, making it suitable for load dump and cold-crank conditions found in automotive applications.

The LT3434 features a 3 A internal switch that can deliver up to 2.75 A of continuous output current at voltages as low as 1.25 V; a thermally enhanced TSSOP package; a 200 kHz switching frequency; a 3 A, 0.1 Ω switch; and E-grade and I-grade options, which allow operation from -40 °C to +125 °C.

The LT3434 is priced at $5.25 each in 1,000-piece quantities. The LT3434IFE starts at $6.05 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
