LTC Announces LT3431 Switching Regulator

May 11, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Linear Technology Corp. (LTC, Milpitas, CA) announced the LT3431, a high-voltage, constant-frequency, step-down, switching regulator that utilizes a 3A internal switch. The LT3431 can operate within a VIN range of 5.5V to 60V and can deliver up to 2.75A of continuous output current at voltages as low as 1.25V, which makes it suitable for telecom, automotive and industrial applications.

The LT3431 features a high-voltage architecture; efficiencies as high as 90%; a constant 500kHz switching frequency; external synchronization from 580kHz to 700kHz; a thermally enhanced TSSOP package; a high-efficiency 3A, 0.1Ohm switch; a supply current of 2.5mA during normal operation; and a shutdown current of 30µA.

The LT3431EFE is available from stock, and pricing starts at $4.95 in 1,000-piece quantities.
