LTC Announces LT1935 SOT-23 Switching Regulator

July 14, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Linear Technology Corp. (LTC, Milpitas, CA) announced its LT1935, a high-power SOT-23 switching regulator. The device is a 2 A/40 V/1.2 MHz, step-up dc-dc converter in a ThinSOT™ package. The high voltage switch on the LT1935 is rated at 40 V, making the device suitable for boost converters up to 38 V, as well as for single-ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) and flyback designs.

The LT1935's wide 2.3 V to 16 V input-voltage range enables the LT1935 to operate from single-cell, lithium-ion batteries up to fixed 15 V input rails, delivering outputs up to 38 V. The LT1935's NPN switch achieves a VCESAT of 180 mV at 2 A, independent of supply voltage, resulting in high efficiency at maximum power levels from a 3 V input. The device can generate 5 V at up to 1 A from a 3.3 V supply, or 5 V at 550 mA from four alkaline cells in a SEPIC design.

The LT1935ES5 is available from stock in a ThinSOT package. Pricing starts at $2.44 each for 1,000-piece quantities.
