Lin Engineering Unveils 17 Super Torque Step Motor

July 17, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Lin Engineering Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a leader in step motor design, unveiled its new Super Torque Step Motor, which is a 1.8°, NEMA size 17 stepper motor that is available in three different lengths of 1.34in, 1.57in and 1.89in. The size 17 Super Torque Step Motor is suggested in applications where load capacities are critical to precision system operation.

The motor is capable of a holding torque from 30oz-in to 83oz-in depending on the length. Unipolar and bipolar windings are available to allow for the torque and speed required to accommodate applications. The Super Torque Motor provides approximately two to three times more torque than a standard motor of similar design, according to the company.
