Lin Engineering Intros 3509V Size 14 Step Motor

New Products Dec 02, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Lin Engineering Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a designer and specialist of step motors, released its 3509V, 0.9 degree, size 14 step motor, which allows the customer to choose from five separate mounting options for both Nema 14 and Nema 17 sizes in order to fit a specific application. The 3509V is suitable for medical, optical, packaging and surveillance applications.

The step accuracy of the 3509V modular size 14 step motor is ±1.5 arc minutes. The 3509V measures 0.82 in x 1.44 in². It weighs 0.27 lbs and has a holding torque of up to 16 oz-in. The windings of the 3509V are encapsulated with a thermally conductive ceramic-based polymer that allows heat to dissipate at a faster rate. This allows for more aggressive windings in the same small package.
