Lead-Free Power from BEAR

March 27, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

BEAR Power Supplies announced availability of its lead-free power supplies for commercial, industrial and medical applications. All of the company's standard and custom ac-dc power converter models manufactured after April 15, 2006 will be lead-free and in full compliance with the RoHS directive. The supplies will carry a "RoHS compliant" marking.

BEAR's standard lead-free power supplies range from 5 W to 15 W, with universal input and 3.3 V to 24 V output. They feature a full-load operating temperature range of -40 to +70 degrees C. Both PCB-mountable and chassis-mountable power modules are available with BEAR's unique mini-IEC input connector and detachable line cord, which improves safety by eliminating exposed high voltage traces from the system designer's printed circuit board.

All BEAR power supplies are CE marked and FCC Class B compliant. Commercial and industrial models are approved to UL 60950-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 no. 60950-1-03, and EN 60950-1 standards. Medical power supplies are approved to UL 2601-1, CAN/CASA-C22.2 no. 601.1-M90, EN 60601-1-2, and IEC 601-1/A2 standards.

Standard lead-free, RoHS power supplies are available from stock, starting at $30 each in volume.
