Lantronix Intros SecureLinx SLP Remote Power Manager

December 06, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Lantronix Inc. (Irvine, CA) introduced its new SecureLinx SLP power management system that provides 24/7 control over business-critical data center equipment from anywhere in the world. Through a secure web interface, the SecureLinx SLP enables remote control of power to servers, switches, routers and telecom equipment.

The SecureLinx allows remote monitoring of power loads, reboot systems, power-up devices in sequence, and more. The device saves time and money by eliminating the need to send personnel to the data center to attend to power management problems, or perform routine server management functions.

The SecureLinx combines intelligent power distribution, management and load-measurement for remote equipment and branch ac circuits into a single device. The ability to remotely monitor power consumption helps maintain safe loads on existing power circuits, and alerts administrators when and where additional power circuits are needed.
